The Heritage Game Seminar
The Heritage Game Project’s third in-person meeting took place from January 27 to 31, 2025, at Trnava University in Trnava, Slovakia. The event brought together esteemed partners from Polytechnic University of Tomar (Portugal), D.A. Tsenov Academy of Economics (Bulgaria), University of South Bohemia České Budějovice (Czech Republic), Valahia University of Târgoviște (Romania), University of Trnava (Slovakia), Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University (Turkiye), and University of Camerino (Italy) to discuss progress, share insights, and collaborate on the project’s future directions.
The event gathered project partners from seven European countries to discuss progress, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaboration. The meeting began with an official opening on January 28, where representatives from Trnava University, the city’s administration, and project partners introduced the initiative. The first full day featured plenary lectures on gamification in heritage work, best practices, and expert insights, culminating in a partners’ meeting and an evening networking dinner.
The following days included hands-on workshops on gamification methodologies and interactive tools for heritage learning, led by experts in the field. Participants engaged in group discussions and a practical gamification initiative in Trnava, providing a real-world application of the project’s principles. On January 30, partners convened to review key work packages, addressing project management, best practices, methodology, implementation, and dissemination strategies. Each session was led by different partner institutions, contributing to a comprehensive evaluation of the project’s progress.
The final day allowed participants to take part in a guided cultural tour of Trnava. The meeting successfully fostered interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange, reinforcing the project’s commitment to developing innovative gamification approaches for heritage engagement. The partners look forward to continuing their efforts in advancing the project’s impact and strengthening the connection between gamification, education, and heritage preservation.
